Counselling for Parents

Being a parent can stretch every part of you - your patience, your relationships, your sense of self.

Whether you're deep in the toddler trenches, navigating school transitions, parenting teens or watching your young adult take flight, parenting can bring out the best and the hardest parts of who we are. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck in conflict, questioning your instincts or just exhausted from trying to keep everything together.

At Sydney Counselling Space, I support parents to make sense of what's going on underneath the surface - in your household and within yourself and to feel more confident and connected in your parenting.

There’s no one right way to be a parent.

Is this you?

  • You love your child fiercely, but feel guilty, frustrated or lost at times.

  • You’re tired of repeating the same patterns - yelling, shutdowns, power struggles and you want to parent differently.

  • You’re navigating different parenting values from your partner or your family of origin.

  • You’re worried about your child’s behaviour, anxiety or wellbeing and are unsure how best to support them.

  • You feel like you’ve lost yourself in parenting and you want space to reconnect with who you are.

  • You’re raising a child in a context that feels complex - culturally, emotionally, logistically, and you need space to breathe and reflect.

What You Can Expect

  • A calm and non-judgmental space to pause, process and problem-solve.

  • A collaborative approach that blends family systems theory, attachment thinking and practical parenting strategies.

  • Insight into what’s happening in your family dynamics, and how small shifts can create big changes.

  • Support to tune into your values and make parenting decisions that feel right for your family, not just what books or social media say.

  • Help navigating emotional triggers, stress or burn-out, so you can parent with more intention and less reactivity.

  • A reminder that your wellbeing matters too and that looking after yourself is part of looking after your child.

Parenting is not meant to be done in isolation. If you’re ready to feel more grounded, connected and confident in your parenting, or you just need a space to exhale - I’d love to support you.

Let’s make sense of it all, together.
