Counselling for Neurodivergent People
You don’t need to mask here. You don’t need to be “fixed.”
At Sydney Counselling Space, I offer a safe, affirming space for neurodivergent individuals (children, teens, and adults) to explore life on their terms. Whether you're autistic, ADHD, PDA, dyslexic or otherwise wired differently, you deserve support that respects who you are, not who the world expects you to be.
This is not behaviour management. This is not about “overcoming” your brain. This is about supporting you (or your child) to feel understood, respected and empowered in a world that often misunderstands difference.
Is this you or your child?
You might be:
Burnt out from masking or trying to meet expectations that never felt like yours.
Struggling with sensory overwhelm, anxiety, shutdowns or executive functioning challenges.
A parent of a neurodivergent child looking for guidance that doesn’t pathologise your family.
Newly diagnosed and unsure what it means or wondering if you need a label at all.
Feeling misunderstood in relationships, work, school or even by people close to you.
Someone who’s navigating late-in-life realisations about neurodivergence and what that means for your identity.
Whether you’re seeking counselling for yourself or for your child, what matters most is that you feel safe, heard and never judged.
What You Can Expect
A neurodiversity-affirming approach grounded in respect, curiosity and consent.
Support for autonomy, identity and self-understanding, not compliance.
Adaptable sessions- I follow your rhythm, interests and communication style.
No pressure to make eye contact, sit still, or 'talk about your feelings' right away.
Tools and strategies tailored to how your brain works- not cookie-cutter strategies and worksheets.
If you're a parent, collaborative support, helping you understand your child’s needs without blame or shame.
If you're an adult, space to reclaim your identity, work through internalised ableism and build relationships that actually work for you.
Here, neurodivergence is not a problem to solve. It’s a perspective to be honoured and a way of being that deserves celebration, not correction.
Ready to talk? Or maybe just curious? You're welcome, exactly as you are.
